Here is a great learning project for using the EPS8266 WiFi-Enabled micro controller. I really want to start working with this board and this gives me a great place to start. This project is simple in what it does but quite educational as it uses LiFePo rechargeable battery power, and OLED screen and the network smarts of the ESP8266. Once you put this project together there are a lot of ways you could go in developing your own projects.
