Replacement cable modem: Motorola SB6120 Surfboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

I was having some issues with my old Motorola Surfboard Cable Modem dropping my cable connection, especially under heavy loads like playing streaming video. The modem would stop issuing an IP address to my router and require a reboot of both the modem and the router. Using some Staples Reward dollars I had saved up, I replaced my older modem with this new Docsis 3.0 compatible modem from Motorola . I am happy to report that I haven't had a drop-out in almost a week. Troubles with your Internet connection can be frustrating and sometimes you need to replace equipment even if it is working 90% of the time. It is that 10% where it isn't working that can drive you crazy. My next issue is poor coverage from my Wireless N router. I have metal lathe beneath the plaster walls in the older part of the house and it seems to eat up the wireless signal like a Faraday Cage . Changing the wireless channel has helped a bit, but I think I am going to need to step up to a more powerful router w
